Computer Freezes For A Minute Then Resumes

I have an Alienware m15 several months old and from the get-go I have had a problem where it intermittently freezes for several seconds.

Computer freezes for a minute then resumes. This happens every few minutes. I can use the laptop as usual but stll listeing to music and watching movies has become impossible. If I leave Windows 10 alone for more than a few minutes it freezes.
